You are a multi-passionate creative, not a productivity machine. Yet, so often, the weight of your responsibilities leaves your creative passions feeling like a burden rather than a source of joy.
Creative Recovery Circle™ is an intimate, witness-led dedicated space designed for those ready to move from “figuring it out” to building sustainable creative life infrastructure. Circle is a place to go get “fixed,” but it is someplace you can come be ReSourced.
Whether you are seeking your first spark or looking to deepen your existing practice, we provide the steady rhythm you need to reclaim your creative power without sacrifice.
We use the works of creative recovery pioneers like Julia Cameron as our shared language to ground our journey. When you join the Circle, you choose the course framework that matches your current season:
Not sure which path is for you? We are happy to help you discern which framework fits your current creative goals during a Curiosity Call.

Our space isn’t about self-improvement. Our space is about sustainability and nurturing the inner artist. This is a co-created, dedicated space where we practice radical honesty and deep listening. We operate under shared agreements that prioritize emotional safety and authentic sharing. We cultivate a judgment-free zone where your internal process is always more important than your external output.
As we co-create this space, we practice:
We provide the structure so you can focus on the art. The art of living and the art you’re making. Whether you are part of our weekly seasonal Circle or our monthly year-long Circle, we ground ourselves in the tools that make creative living sustainable.
“The Artist’s Way has allowed me to take my creative life a little bit more seriously. It’s enabled the people in my life who don’t embrace my creativity to also take it more seriously. Our Circle reminds me that I’m not alone on the path and makes it seem not so bonkers. It took away the Imposter syndrome of what it means to be a real artist, and, now, I realize we’re all just making it up. Literally, and it’s okay, but it gives me a safe place to talk about it and cry about it. Whatever I need, I know I’ve got people who are here to support me.”
— Jennifer Strauser, Dizzyquilter.com
“Through The Artist’s Way, I’ve learned: 1) my job is to listen for and honor the next right step, and listening is made easier with each step I honor, starting with morning pages; 2) If there’s only time and energy left in the day for one thing, then take yourself on an artist date; 3) OMG I have a process (and have for some time, but didn’t give it credit), and that my process is just about the most fun I can have alone, involving ingredients like rolling out on foam rollers, playing with my furry familiars, listening to an album and dancing to candlelight – before I know it, I simply have to be the one making the music and off I go!”
— Erica Beloved, singer-songwriter based in LA
“It’s helped me realize my creative life as being much broader than the specific little thing I might be making. It’s a Gestalt sort of thing, a holistic experience…I’ve got creative buddies. I’ve got people I can go and talk to in a way that I can’t with other people. I consider everybody creative, but they don’t necessarily consider themselves that and, so when I want to work through something or talk about something they claim that’s not in their wheelhouse. Here I found people who speak the same language. I found my cohort, I found my clan, I found my family, my buds.”
— Marilee Wertlake, Wisconsin
Not at all! The Circle is designed to guide you through the book’s principles and practices, whether you’re brand new to the material or have explored it before.
Absolutely! The Creative Recovery Circle is about reconnecting with your creative essence, whatever form that takes. Whether you’re drawn to writing, cooking, gardening, singing, visual arts, or any other creative expression, this journey will help you reclaim that part of yourself.
This circle is for anyone who feels the tug to express themselves and wants to build a more sustainable relationship with their own creative energy.
Yes. In addition to our facilitated circles, the weekly “Atmosphere” support sessions ensure you have a consistent check-in point. Between meetings, our community space is always open for ongoing connection.
All circles are recorded although members are always free to decline recording, but you won’t miss out if you can’t join in real-time. We will always share a replay of the facilitated parts of Circle as well as the sharing portion from those expressing consent.
Many members also record personal check-ins to share with the group if they can’t be present.
Sharing is always optional. Some participants find it helpful and affirming to share their journey and creations, while others prefer a more private experience. Both approaches are honored in the Circle.
The core practices of The Artist’s Way include Morning Pages (about 30 minutes daily) and Artist Dates (about 2 hours weekly), plus our group sessions (about 90 minutes weekly). Many participants find that these practices actually create more spaciousness in their lives rather than adding to their busyness.
We get it. Setting out on a new adventure can be a big deal when you’re trying to figure it out on your own. We’re happy to give you a generous dose of care and facilitation before we begin. Book a Curiosity Chat.
Creative Recovery Circle is open to everyone—whether you are a seasoned creative or just cracking open the door to your creative potential.
